Semena De Mar Del Plata - 2006

Mar del Plata is one of ours best racing places, it frequently offers windy condition and high waves, besides the racing area is always putting in open sea.

The last eight races of the championship were the first part of the selective champinship for the worlds in Hungry, the next two will be in the River Plate, and the last one will be in ´´Chascomus´´ lake.

About the Mar del Plata´s championship, the first three days the races were suspended because of the extreme windy condition (more than 30 knots). Then, fortunately, we had 6 days with high waves and winds of between 10 and 20 knots, so it makes that we could complete succesfully the first part of the selective campionship.

Cosentino-Castro showed a great perfomance, followed by Cosentino´s little brother, Gonzalo-Cosentino-Grande, the other one who had an important performance, not in the championship but in the selective part (last 8 races), was Ferrantino-Capa, who got good results for the Selective. Gojenola-Romero had a noticeable performans getting the 3rd position, adding that this was his first championship in Cadet Class.

This championship is an important event in wich all clases take part every year (optimist 210, Cadets 27, 420 13, 29er 8, Europe 14, Laser 46 wich participation of international crews in most of them) it favors to the integration between the diferents clases.

It would be great for us that you and other countries manage to come next year for taking part in this great event, so I offer, as secretary of the AACIC and Secretary of centreboard boats of the YCA, all the possible help so that you can come.

Emilio Travascio (Secretary AACIC)
